For referring providers

You close the medical chapter. I help close the personal one.

For surgeons, nurse navigators, dermatologists, OBs and oncology care teams. I am Ella Rozhko, a paramedical tattoo artist in Santa Barbara. Your patient finishes with you, heals, gets discharged, and for a lot of them there is still one chapter open. I am the last stop.

Advanced Paramedical Aesthetics is a paramedical tattoo studio in Santa Barbara, California. Ella Rozhko camouflages surgical, injury and burn scars, restores areolas after mastectomy, restores belly buttons after a tummy tuck or hernia repair, and camouflages stretch marks, for patients whose medical care is already complete.

Referring costs your office nothing and takes one line: give the patient the number. They text two photos, get a free fifteen-minute call, and hear an honest answer about whether they are a candidate, including when the answer is not yet.

Where I sit

After the medical part is finished, and not one day before.

I do not revise scars, reconstruct anything, or work on skin that is still settling. I work in color, on healed tissue, once your part is done and the tissue has stopped changing. For most scars that is a year or more out; for areola restoration it is once reconstruction has fully healed.

By the time somebody reaches my chair they are usually ready to be done with the whole chapter. They have been through the appointments, the waiting, the healing. What is left is the part where their skin looks like theirs again, and that is the only part I do.

If a patient sends me photos of something that belongs in front of you rather than in front of me, I tell them to go back to you. That happens, and I would rather it happen than the alternative.

Ella's not gonna let you go until it's right.

What the dentist I have worked alongside for twenty years tells her patients about me
  • Two decades of restorative dental precision, working in fractions of a millimeter
  • Advanced paramedical and areola training with internationally recognized artists Shay Danielle, Sherah Juarez and Jody Stoski
  • Custom pigment mixed to the patient's skin at every session, never picked off a chart
  • 5.0 from 10 Google reviews, and an unhurried session with breaks whenever the patient wants them

What I do

The work, in the terms you would use.

All of it is cosmetic camouflage and restoration. None of it is medical care, and nothing on this site or in my consults is medical advice.

Areola restoration after mastectomy
Unilateral or bilateral, on reconstructed or flat closure. Color, shape and shadow built by hand so that something flat reads as three-dimensional. Placement and size drawn on and agreed in a mirror before anything permanent happens.
Scar camouflage
Surgical, injury and burn scars, once matured and flat. Custom pigment placed into the scar itself so the line stops announcing itself. Raised and keloid scars stay raised; I say so on the phone rather than at the appointment.
Stretch mark camouflage
After pregnancy or weight change. Matured, lightened marks take pigment best, which is why candidacy always starts with photographs.
Belly button restoration and microneedling
Belly button restoration after abdominoplasty or hernia repair, which is rare and my favorite thing to draw. Microneedling as well, for softening raised or textured scars such as tummy tuck scars.

How a referral works

Three steps, and two of them are mine.

There is no portal, no form, no fax, and nothing for your front desk to learn. Your part is a phone number.

  1. You give them the number

A card in the discharge packet, a line in the after-visit summary, or just saying it out loud. That is the whole ask. If you want printed cards or a one-page patient handout for the office, tell me how many and I will drop them off.

  2. They text me two photos

Patients self-refer by text to 805-971-0097, which means nobody at your office schedules anything or chases anybody. I screen candidacy for free, and I tell people honestly when they need to wait longer or go back to you first.

  3. I report back, if you want that

Some offices want a short note when their patient is seen and when the work is finished. Some would rather not have the inbox traffic. Tell me which you are and that is what you get.

No money moves in either direction. I do not pay for referrals and I do not ask anyone to send me patients in exchange for anything. If I am useful to your patients, send them. If I stop being useful, stop.

What your patient gets

The same care you gave them, in a much smaller room.

You are handing over somebody you looked after. Here is exactly what happens to them.

The questions they will ask me

  • An honest no when it is a no. Not every scar is a candidate and not everyone is ready. I would rather lose the booking than take money for work I do not believe in.
  • No promise of erasure. Camouflage blends, it does not delete, and areola restoration does not undo anything that happened. I say that plainly, before anybody books.
  • Unhurried sessions. Breaks whenever they want them, a stress ball, and somebody who has spent twenty years calming nervous people in a chair.
  • Color mixed to them. Never picked off a chart. Nothing starts until the match disappears against their skin in daylight.
  • A touch-up in the plan from the start. Healed color is the only color that counts, so the follow-up is part of the work rather than a second sale.
  • A referral back to you if anything looks like it needs your eyes instead of mine.

Precision

Twenty years of millimeters

Before this, my work was restorative dental artistry: crowns and front teeth, designed, milled, characterized and glazed in house, color matched so closely that nobody could tell. Fractions of a millimeter, inside a moving, talking, usually nervous human being. Same precision and the same color science, on a much bigger canvas.

Proof

Healed results and references

I keep a portfolio of healed results from real clients, shared with their blessing, and I am glad to walk any office through it in person. References from providers who already send me patients are available on request. Healed work is what I show you, because it is the version your patient lives with.

Already here

Known in this community

I already work with local surgeons whose patients arrive bragging about how well they were cared for, and I already know the people at the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara. This is not a cold introduction. It is an offer to make something that already happens work better.

Ella does miracles in her office! Her talent is undeniable! Place is very clean as well as comfortable to be treated to improve self confidence with my body scars

An open invitation

Come and see the studio. Bring the whole team.

The studio is at 5370 Hollister Ave Suite K in Santa Barbara. If you are curious what this work actually looks like healed, come by. It takes twenty minutes and there is coffee.

If it is easier the other way round, I will come to you and walk your staff through candidacy, timing and what to tell patients, in about thirty minutes. Nurse navigators tend to have the sharpest questions, and I like those.

And if you would rather just have the number to hand out, that works too. 805-971-0097, any day.

The studio seen from the doorway: white reclining chair, wheeled stool, white cabinets and sink, a full-length mirror and dark wood floor.

Provider line

Text or call, whichever your day allows.

I answer both myself. Ask for the healed-result portfolio, for cards for the front desk, for a staff walkthrough, or just to find out whether the patient sitting in front of you is likely to be a candidate.

The last stop

Whatever it is, it starts with a text.

Two photos, fifteen minutes on the phone, and an honest answer. Nobody has ever regretted asking, and I have never once made someone feel silly for wondering.
